Sales Engineer


The Sales Engineer (SE) is responsible for actively supporting and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. The SE supports the sales team, marketing team, and product team, managing the tools needed for pre-sales engagements, developing presentations and demonstrations, managing trade show preparations, and being the “voice of the customer” as an expert in the industries they support.                    

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Support

  • Support sales executives and business development with solution selling into prospect account base 
  • Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles, including performing pre-meeting research on companies and people, preparing presentation materials, and performing demos
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs and mitigates pain points
  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
  • Assist in supporting the most current Demonstration Build
  • Configure the Demo Build for specific client demonstrations and on-site engagements with a “do whatever it takes” attitude
  • Manage the pre-sales demo calendar and manage time resources based on prep time for engagements
  • Provide training and produce support material for other members of the sales team.
  • Manage and Organize the RFP process
  • Lead the Functional and Technical requirements response
  • Develop and maintain deep industry-specific knowledge in existing and new verticals

Marketing Support

  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
  • Lead trade show preparation and on-site coordination of the trade show booth lifecycle
  • Manage and maintain the most up to date Sales presentation for each industry vertical

Product Support

  • Effectively communicate client needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge and understanding of our product, including new releases
  • Identify and manage the development of prototype capabilities to fill customer gaps or increase competitive advantage

  • Articulate, confident, self-aware, and personable character
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in GIS preferred
  • Spanish proficiency preferred
  • Travel (25%-50%) within assigned territory, including weekends and potential international travel
